1

Arrival in Praia Upon arrival at Nelson Mandela International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Praia, the capital of Cape Verde.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy some free time to discover the city’s unique atmosphere. Stroll through the historic Plateau district, relax at a local café, or admire your first Atlantic sunset.

Begin your adventure with a guided tour of Praia, exploring its lively neighborhoods, local markets, and colonial architecture.

 

Continue to Cidade Velha, the former capital of Cape Verde and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

Discover São Filipe Fortress, the famous Banana Street, and historic landmarks that tell the story of the island’s colonial past.

 

Return to Praia in the late afternoon.

Travel into Santiago’s lush interior to the Rui Vaz Natural Park.

Enjoy an easy two-hour hike through terraced farmland, plantations, and spectacular mountain scenery, revealing the island’s greener and more rural side.

Continue to Assomada to visit its famous traditional market, one of the island’s most vibrant cultural highlights, where local produce, handicrafts, and everyday Cape Verdean life come together.

Check in to your guesthouse for a two-night stay.

In the late afternoon, you may choose to join an optional walk through the peaceful Boa Entrada Valley (approximately 1.5 hours), known for its tropical vegetation.

Travel to the west coast of Santiago and the authentic fishing village of Ribeira da Barca.

Board a boat for an unforgettable excursion to Águas Belas, a spectacular natural site accessible only by sea.

Admire dramatic volcanic cliffs, impressive rock arches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Depending on sea conditions, enjoy an optional snorkeling experience to discover Santiago’s rich marine life.

The day continues with a traditional seaside barbecue in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Return to Assomada in the evening.

Visit a local family home for an authentic cultural experience.

Take part in a traditional cooking workshop, learning how to prepare some of Cape Verde’s most iconic dishes while discovering the flavors of the archipelago.

Later, immerse yourself in Cape Verde’s rich musical heritage with an introduction to its traditional rhythms, including Morna, Coladeira, and Funaná.

In the afternoon, travel to Tarrafal, the island’s charming seaside village, where you’ll stay for the next three nights.

Drive After breakfast, transfer to Serra Malagueta Natural Park, one of Santiago’s most beautiful mountain landscapes.

Enjoy a scenic downhill hike of approximately 3.5 hours through lush valleys, terraced fields, and remote villages.

Along the way, breathtaking views of the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean accompany your journey.

The hike ends in Principal Valley, famous for its abundant tropical vegetation.

Enjoy lunch in a traditional local restaurant before returning to Tarrafal via the island’s spectacular northern coastal road.

Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing on the beach or exploring the peaceful village.

Enjoy a full day at your own pace in Tarrafal.
